More about Bournemouth

Bournemouth is a large tourist town situated on the south coast of England. With a population of 164, 000 it is the largest town on the English South coast between Southampton and Plymouth. Located on the coastline this city is greeted by seven miles of golden sandy beaches on one side and endless countryside and natural woodlands on the other. Bournemouth is an exciting tourist attraction offering a variety of world class shopping, restaurants, bars, award winning gardens, buzzing night life, and sports and leisure activities.

Bournemouth’s coastal location has allowed the city to offer an extensive selection of water sports and activities to the tourist keen to get wet. An artificial Surf Reef was engineered and created to offer the best wave conditions at Bournemouth; this reef has now opened the beach to Surfers, Wind-surfers, and body boarding enthusiasts. The water sport activities don’t stop there; the Shockwave is a 500 HP speed boat running every 15 minutes, offering tourists the water based thrill seeking adventure they are searching for.

Once again, due to Bournemouth’s perfect location between coast and countryside, the city is able to offer a variety of outdoor activities as an alternative to the water sports on offer. Activities include golf, biking, tennis, fishing, bowling, hiking, and even horse riding in the enormous New Forest. The New forest, covering an area of over 140 square miles, is a recently designated National Park made up of woodland, heathland, and open pastures. This National Park is an important tourist attraction for Bournemouth, offering treks through the natural woodland and beautiful open pastures as well as Horse Riding adventures through the Forest.
