Delta Force Delta Force News

In 2007 at all Delta Force National Paintball Centres we maintained an unparalleled standard of safety. So how does Delta Force sustain such an impressive safety record? The answer is simple – at Delta Force we place an uncompromised importance on the safety and comfort of each and every one of our players.

Whether you are 11 years old and are playing paintball for your birthday, or 30 years old and are celebrating your Stag party, we will not compromise your personal safety throughout the day of paintball with Delta Force. We want you to leave our paintball centres in the same condition as when you entered – only much happier and a little bit dirtier!

So how does Delta Force guarantee your safety during a full day of paintball action? We start with our state of the art equipment – you receive (among other things) full head protection goggles, moulded and flexible body armour and combat suits with padded collars to ensure you are completely protected from head to toe. These equipment standards are proudly unique to Delta Force, with no other paintball provider throughout the UK offering such a standard of safety equipment.

In addition to our premium safety equipment, at Delta Force all of our staff are extensively trained in player safety. At the start of the day all players undergo a pre-recorded safety briefing, and the Centre Manager then delivers their personal safety guidelines to ensure all of our valued players understand the paintball rules, regulations and guidelines. Finally, all of our Senior Marshals are first aid accredited and are available throughout the day, should any issues arise.

At Delta Force we call this our recipe for safety success – we are proud of our unparalleled safety standards and impressive safety record. So when deciding where you want to play paintball anywhere throughout the UK, consider whether you want to play at a paintball centre that doesn’t place such an uncompromising importance on your personal safety.

Delta Force – the UK’s premium provider of paintball games.

Essex County Cricket Club traded in their cricket gloves and helmets for a different type of protective equipment – top of the range Delta Force Paintball equipment! The 1st XI county cricket side, which boasts various international names such as Alastair Cook, Ravinder Bopara and Alex Tudor, embarked on an action-packed day of paintball at the Delta Force Paintball centre in Billericay, Essex.

The Essex paintball event, organised by coach Paul Grayson, was an integral part of the club’s preparation and team building before they embark on the upcoming preseason competition in Dubai. Ravinder Bopara, an England squad member for the 2007 Cricket World Cup, was among the 20 players to participate in the day out outdoor paintball adventure. Bopara was identified by the Centre Manager as one of the most competitive players on the day, attacking and defending in the different game scenarios just like the paintball professionals.

A BBC film crew documented the day of paintball, with the footage from the day’s adventure shown on the BBC News Look East program. Coach Grayson, a former England One Day International representative, was interviewed by the BBC film crew and was quoted as saying the entire Essex team loved their time with Delta Force Paintball.

Thanks for coming down Essex County Cricket Club – we look forward to seeing you at Delta Force Paintball again in the near future!

Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack credited his team’s impressive 4-0 victory at West Ham over the weekend to a team-building game of paintball during the week. Ballack, who was omitted from the starting line-up for the Carling Cup final at Wembley two weeks ago, said the team used the paintball outing as a means to regroup and prepare for the game against West Ham.

"The paintballing was arranged by JT," he added of last Tuesday's exercise near to the club's training ground.  "It is a small part in football but sometimes during the season you have difficult moments, especially after such a defeat by Tottenham.  Then you have to do something a little bit different… we wanted to do something to clean our minds and our heads.”

The paintball event achieved the desired goal, with Chelsea turning their form around in impressive fashion with the comfortable victory away from home against the Hammers. Many organisations, teams and groups use paintballing as an effective team-building activity; from sporting clubs to corporate groups, paintball facilitates open communication, teamwork, effective planning and team cohesion.

At Delta Force we are proud to have hosted team-building paintball events for countless well-known sporting teams, including Chelsea FC, Manchester United FC, Leeds Rhinos Rugby Club and Essex County Cricket Club. Recognised as the leaders in their respective sports, these big names are just some of the thousands of players who have effectively used paintballing with Delta Force Paintball to reach the highest level of team performance.

At Delta Force Paintball we have almost 20 years of experience in helping organisations, corporate groups and sporting teams achieve their performance goals, so why not call us now on 0844 477 5050 and organise your action-packed day of paintball adventure now.

At Delta Force Paintball we believe there is nothing quite like the sight of a snow-covered paintball field at daybreak. Over the past few months our Greenwood centre in Houston, Renfrewshire has experienced significant snowfalls, and last weekend was no exception. Despite the cold conditions and snow covering, all Delta Force Paintball games continue as normal.

The Delta Force Centre Manager Jerry Parrot said the customers always enjoy the added excitement of playing paintball in the snow.

“It’s quite a surreal experience playing paintball in the snow; it adds to the atmosphere and players always liken it to different movie scenes like Bourne Identify and Bodyguard.”

All of our 22 National Paintball Centres facilitate games as usual throughout the year, regardless of weather conditions. Many players even prefer to play in the snow or rain, as it creates an element of realism, adventure and warfare. If you want to organise an action-packed game of paintball at our Greenwood centre or any of the 22 Delta Force Paintball National Centres then call our Booking Office on 0844 477 5050 or visit www.paintballgames.co.uk.

With Spring fast approaching and the warmer weather on its way, now is the time to organise your day of paintball adventure with Delta Force Paintball. The blue skies are making an appearance on a more regular basis and conditions are perfect for playing paintball with your friends, family and work colleagues.

As the season changes from Winter to Spring, our fields are looking greener, forest coverage is more extensive and the game scenarios are primed and ready for a barrage of paintball games. The start of Spring is welcomed by more sunlight and longer days, and during the Summer months we offer evening games at many of the Delta Force Paintball National Centres.

So why not take advantage of the fresh Spring air, warmer weather and brighter skies - organise your day of outdoor activity with Delta Force Paintball, the UK’s premier provider of paintball games.

Congratulations to our Springwood centre in Kent for winning the Delta Force Paintball Award of Excellence for outstanding performance over the last three months. All 22 Delta Force Paintball National Centres were graded on various criteria, including player numbers, safety standards, customer feedback, centre cleanliness, equipment procedures and marshalling. Springwood, which has undergone various redevelopments over the past 12 months, was the top performer in several criteria and was recognised as the UK’s leading paintball centre.

Springwood’s success is based around their dedicated marshals, tested procedures and regulations, and state-of-the-art game scenarios, including:
        -    Aztec Jungle Attack
        -    Year 3000 Shapes Field
        -    Speedball Arena
        -    Alamo Stockade
        -    Afghan Fort
        -    Viet Cong Village

As one of the busiest centres in the UK, Centre Manager Craig Wilson and his team of almost 20 marshals have worked extremely hard over the past 12 months to make Springwood the premier UK paintball centre.

Craig said he was extremely happy with the Award of Excellence, and thanked his tireless team of marshals that work so hard to make Springwood the exciting, efficient and friendly centre that it is.

“As a centre we are very proud of the Award, and to be recognised by our peers as the premier paintball provider is a great honour,” Craig said.

So why not come down and play an adrenalin-fuelled day of paintball at our Springwood centre and see what makes it the best of the best. But be warned, the other 21 Delta Force Paintball National Centres are staking their claim as the top paintball centre, and have already starting making plans to improve their service and win the next Award of Excellence.

Springwood is located off Gracious Lane, Sevenoaks, Kent. For directions please visit http://paintballgames.co.uk/maps/SW.html

Every week at Delta Force Paintball we host several parties that always prove to be extremely successful. We have a proven track record of hosting parties for children, teenagers, 21st parties, Stag and Hen parties and much more. From all-inclusive paintball packages, to special picnic tables for the birthday feast, Delta Force Paintball has your next party conveniently organised! We even have a variety of invitations available to download online from http://paintballgames.co.uk/paintball-downloads.html to mark the special occasion.

Last Saturday we hosted a 12th birthday party for Ben Elliot, a first time visitor to our Zuluwood centre in Manchester. Ben and his mates had a great day of paintball adventure with Delta Force Paintball, and Ben’s mum even organised a special paintball birthday cake and party bag for all of the boys.

“Thanks to Delta Force Paintball for organising Ben’s birthday party - all of the boys, and the parents, absolutely loved it! Everything was conveniently organised - it was such a welcome change to be able to celebrate with Ben and his mates rather than having to organise the whole day. I joined in the games with some of the other parents and all of the children and it was fantastic. Some of the boys have even started planning their parties at Delta Force Paintball - we’ll definitely be back soon!”

                                                                                                 Mrs Elliot - parent.

Some of you seem to rarely be on the receiving end of a barrage of paintballs. No matter how often you play paintball, you usually (if not always) emerge from the game victorious - unscathed and splatter-free.  We want to know all the secrets behind your winning tactics. Is artful skill and precise planning involved in dodging the paintballs or is it merely dumb luck? Or are you simply more competitive and combative than the rest of us?

We would like to entice you to share your secret winning paintball tactics with those of us who end up being the prey rather than the predator on the paintball battlefields. Therefore we are resorting to old-fashioned bribery. If you share your paintball tactics with us you could win a fantastic new book; Paintball and Airsoft Battle Tactics.

The book, due to be published this month (February 2008), was written by an expert on military tactics. Paintball and Airsoft Battle Tactics is filled to the brim with exhaustive, professional advice on how to succeed in the paintball environment. It details on-target topics such as the best equipment to use, clothing, food and drink, signals, manoeuvres and much more. Armed with the knowledge contained in this book, even the best paintball player is bound to improve.

We have five copies to give away. To enter the draw, simply e-mail your name, contact information and a detailed description of one or more of your sure-fire, winning paintball tactics to tactics@paintballgames.co.uk.

Local weather forecasts have predicted light snow showers for weekend paintball games at various Delta Force Paintball centres. Centre Managers are warning customers to rug up and bring a spare change of clothes for after the day’s action, with minimum temperatures expected to approach -2oC in the late afternoon. All centres have covered picnic tables for protection from the conditions between games, and all games are scheduled to go ahead rain, hail or shine. Homewood Centre Manager Elio said he was looking forward to the weekend’s games:

"The younger players love running around playing paintball in the snow - it's quite a surreal experience!"

                                                                             Elio, Homewood Centre Manager

Coming to a Delta Force centre near you! Black Hawk helicopters are a new and exciting addition to our themed base camps. The full-scale helicopters create an atmosphere of battle on the paintball fields, and are so realistic that you will think you’re under attack from the choppers above. Come down and see the latest additions to the Delta Force base camps, these choppers are set to impress.

Refurbishments to the Leewood centre have recently been finalised, transforming the Leeds centre into one of the largest and most exciting paintball centres in the UK. The popular centre now boasts six new game scenarios, including a two-storey castle, large pyramid and an action-packed wall scenario. Feedback from customers so far has been extremely encouraging, and we know that you will love the action and adventure of playing on these brand new movie-set quality game scenarios.

Former England football captain (and Chelsea FC captain) Ray Wilkins came paintballing in Surrey on Sunday 28th October 2007.  Ray, who is now a presenter on Sky Sports, played at Delta Force Paintball with a team of young footballers.  It was an honour to have one of Britain's all time sporting legends join us for the day - and what a lovely bloke he was too.  Thank you for your kind words Ray, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Premiership football club Wigan Athletic played paintball with us on 24.9.07.  The entire first team was there (except Emile Heskey who couldn't make it).  The boys had such a good time that they immediately made a booking for their youth team (who are coming to play with us on 9th October).

Heavy rain in many parts of the country last weekend did not stop play.  Thousands of happy players enjoyed rip-roaring days at the 23 Delta Force Paintball centres around the UK.  Only once in 17 years has rain stopped play - and that was when a flashflood washed away a base-camp!  It has been a terrible summer though, and Delta Force would like to thank it's hard-working staff and wonderful customers for soldiering on through the endless rain.  Here's hoping for an Indian summer...

The players from the celebrated Leeds Rhinos Rugby Club visited our Leeds Paintball Centre (near Wakefield) on 22nd August.    The 'Ninja Suits' were sure stretched to breaking point that day.  The energy these guys brought to the game was incredible - they didn't stop running from start to finish (actually it was more like CHARGING!).  Great to have you guys down and best of luck this coming season.

Amir Khan the champion boxer played paintball near Liverpool at a Delta Force Paintball centre and kindly left us with a written testimonial in which he said: "thanks a lot, and we will be back soon".

Amir is not only a great boxer he plays a mean game of paintball too.  You should have seen him run - that guy is 100% fit, and his reactions were so fast that Julie (Centre Manager) swears she saw him dodge an incoming paintball!

Delta Force Paintball is now open in Dublin.  In Dublin we trade as Frontier Paintball (because there is already a company using the name 'Delta Force' in Ireland).  The Dublin centre sets new standards for Dublin - never before have Dubliners had access to full head goggle system, body armour and movie-set-quality game zones.

Frontier Paintball (Delta Force) is set in the wooded grounds of a Stately Home, a few kilometres south of Dublin in the seaside town of Bray.

Frontier Paintball (Delta Force) uses innovative new compressed air technology to power its guns - rather than the carbon dioxide powered systems favoured by other operators - air is much kinder on the planet.

Delta Force Paintball has equipped all it's paintball centres with custom DF body armour. This means you can now play paintball without the pain. Rather like a military 'flak jacket' these units keep you safe from injury - an incoming paintball will hit one of the hard plastic plates built into the body armour and then burst harmlessly marking you with a splash of vivid colour.  You will be able to tell you have been hit, but you will feel no pain.  Awesome! The UKPBA (the governing body of the sport of paintball in the UK) supports this initiative and believes it will open up the sport to an even wider audience.  For children and ladies - this is a must.

Delta Force Paintball has placed an order for 20 new Black Hawk helicopters. The helicopters are FULL SIZE scale models, complete and accurate in every detail, but formed in indestructible fibreglass/resin. The cabin of each helicopter can accomodate 15 players; the choppers feature integrated theatrical smoke machines and sound effects (engine noise, radio traffic, and gunfire).

This £100,000 plus investment reflects Delta Force's ongoing commitment to bringing the very best in paintball games to the UK leisure market.

The Leeds paintball centre has been renovated and reopened with an all-new basecamp and new equipment.

It has long been possible to play paintball in Sevenoaks with Delta Force, now we have teamed up with Mayhem Paintball to offer you the opportunity to play paintball in Canterbury as well.

Delta Force has teamed-up with a partner to bring you the opportunity to play paintball in North Wales.

Delta Force Paintball Edinburgh opens it's doors. Edinburgh has a brand new paintball centre - and it's a goodie.  No longer do Edinburgh residents need to pay 15p per paintball (as they have had to do for years) - at Delta Force  you can buy paintballs for as little as 5p per ball.  All our equipment is BRAND NEW too - that's the great thing about coming to a new centre (and of course you will also enjoy our unique full-head goggle systems, and body armour).

Today marks the grand re-opening of the Glasgow Paintball Centre and the launch of three incredible new game zones.  The paintball centre near Paisley (adjacent to Glasgow International Airport) has long been known for having what is probably the largest stone pyramid outside Luxor - on the legendary "Mummy's Revenge" game zone - now it has two full-size double-decker London buses on the "London after the Apocalypse" game zone - and heaps more.  Book a guided tour anytime - it is absolutely amazing!
