Milton Keynes is a large city positioned south east of England, and is commonly referred to as the ‘forest city’ because of the 20 millions trees that were planted for town planning purposes. The Parks Trust, an independent charity responsible for the preservation of the Milton Keynes landscape, has ensured the city will be recognised as the ‘forest city’ for years to come. The impressive landscape boasts green fields, wooded forests and native trees and plants that have received international acclaim over the years. These forests form the backdrop to many outdoor adventure tourist activities such as forest hikes.

One of the most unique adventure activities available in Milton Keynes is the Xscape indoor ski slope. Operational since 2000, the 14-floor ski field also houses a 16-screen cinema, a climbing wall and various shops and restaurants. The Xscape slopes are a favourite amongst the adrenaline and adventure fanatics of the city.

On the sporting front, Milton Keynes boasts three professional teams; the Milton Keynes Dons FC, the Milton Keynes Lightning ice hockey team and the Milton Keynes Lions basketball team. Other outdoor activities include hockey, golf, cricket, and for the more adventurous, Milton Keynes operates an indoor skydiving centre called Airkix.
