A few weeks ago we had a blog post about the Big Bang Theory TV show. The episode aired in America last month and featured a geeky gang of guys trying very hard to unleash their diluted inner alpha males on a paintball field with hilarious consequences.
Since that episode aired we have found that what you and me would call geeks have actually been using paintball to try and understand the origins of the universe.
Dr Hesinger (an uber-brainiac physicist) has been trying to figure out why certain particles called electrons can be in 2 places at once, and why they change their behaviour after being watched...Makes you wonder what they get up to when we’re not watching, naughty little electrons.
It sounds like something straight out of the Matrix; being able to influence particles just by looking at them, although I wouldn’t recommend trying to deflect paintballs with your mind when you visit one of our centres.....for some reason it just didn’t seem to work for me. I quickly found out that Castle Wolfenstein can’t be conquered unless you have a hopper full of paint, and a good strategy, unfortunately staring at the barrel of the opposition’s gun chanting and squinting my eyes just did not work.

I’ll let you know if I have any breakthroughs, but for the moment I strongly recommend playing paintball as usual.
